A successful educational and outreach program is an essential element in creating an informed regional community. Such a program will assist in fostering a more cohesive understanding of the international trading arena not only by practitioners, but also on the part of the wider public. Absent the education of the populace, any attempt at increasing economic viability and enhancing competitiveness through trade liberalization will be fruitless.
Outreach programmes are a fundamental part of our vision at the Shridath Ramphal Centre. We believe that by investing in our regions human capacity, direct benefits will be derived for individual member states and CARICOM on a whole.
Programmes to be undertaken or implemented by the Centre include the UNESCO-funded Creative Industries Exchange, the Virtual Trade Academy, funded by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and a Trade Policy Library.
