WHO SHOULD APPLY

As the global economy becomes increasingly interconnected, corporations, financial institutions, government agencies, consulting companies, and NGOs, are all seeking to hire professionals with a solid understanding of these complex interrelations.

The MITP programme presents a rewarding experience for anyone with a professional interest in trade policy, law and negotiations. The programme is ideal for public and private-sector professionals; persons interested or engaged in development, economics, tourism, agriculture, manufacturing, services, law and the practice of international relations and trade.

WHAT ARE THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The requirements for matriculation in this Masters programme will be slightly different given the specific objective for which the programme was designed. However, applicants to the programme must satisfy the General University Regulations governing admission to a Higher Degree. (These requirements should not be seen as rigid but as merely guidelines for attracting candidates with the most relevant background).

•    Applicants should normally have at least a Lower Second Class Honours degree or its equivalent in fields such as international economics, international relations, development studies, global studies, international business and international law.

•    Candidates with pass degrees, that have other relevant qualifications and substantial work experience, will be considered for entry on a case-by-case basis.

•    Applicants who are not graduates of the University of the West Indies must request that transcripts from their Universities be forwarded directly to the Senior Assistant Registrar (Graduate Studies), School for Graduate Studies & Research, Cave Hill Campus.

•    All applicants must ensure that the two (2) references submitted on their behalf are also sent to the address indicated above, as applications will not be considered without the relevant documents.

•   Write and submit a "Statement of Purpose" of approximately 200-250 words
